Hayate no Gotoku!! ep 23: More Haruko!

Yes, Haruko is my newest crush since ep 20. It is Sakuya’s birthday in this episode. For Sakuya fans, a picture of Sakuya to begin the post.

Sakuya informs Haruko that Nagi and Hayate would be coming for her party, which places Haruko in a dilemma,

since she is afraid that her identity would be exposed.

The story of how Harukaze became a meido took place when she was still a kid

Receiving news that her father’s company might go bankrupt, Harukaze needed to look for a part-time job. She then saw 2 meidos at a meido cafe.

Angered at their incompetence,

and lured by the cute outfits, Harukaze stepped onto the path of a meido.

In the end, Harukaze’s father’s company didn’t go bankrupt, and Harukaze became Sakuya’s personal maid Haruko. Back to the present time-line,  Sakuya got a call that Nagi is too tired from ep 22, so Nagi and Hayate are unable to make it for the party. Overjoyed that there is now no one who recognise her,

Haruko turns around happily

to find

Kasumi Aika, the Vice President of Hakuō Academy, who sees through her real identity immediately.

Haruko requests for Aika to keep it a secret that she’s Sakuya’s maid, and Aika agrees

only to record it in a special book.

Meanwhile, HnG fans might remember that Sakuya’s birthday wish from ep 19 is to have a good laugh. Poor Wataru is thus pushed into the spotlight

but response is colder than Harukaze’s Ice Queen mode. Upset, Wataru sulks in his waiting room, and Sakuya decides to comfort him.

As usual, an accident happens, and the best scene occurs.

and the typical misunderstanding scene occurs

Hoping to clear the misunderstanding, Sakuya asks Isumi for her opinion on Wataru’s earlier performance, to which her reply is

As a side-note, Nagi and Hayate made it to Sakuya’s party in the end, despite her tiredness (awww). And Hayate’s performance is unsurprisingly successful.

Back in Cafe Donguri, Ayumu’s imagination is running wild again

Upon seeing Ayumu going raburabu over Hayate, Hina decides to tell Ayumu about her feelings over Hayate after initially agreeing to support her and Hayate.

Next week on HnG

Will Hina confess?

Will A-Tan appear?

PS: Seems like my HnG posts are getting more image-heavy.
