I really didn’t feel like scanning this, so this is just a moderately touched-up photo I took with my Blackberry;
Basically I’m talking shit about this. And this.
For the record, I still have my FLCL DVD’s.
Anyway, guess what I got!
What for? It’s a secret…OK, not really if you follow me on Twitter. Anyway, there’s a new Mayhem & Cuddles up now, check it out, I’m gonna try to do another one this week. Hope you enjoyed your weekend.
Just like me… As a normal human, i also have a wish… or 2… or maybe 3… Tee hee~
Tapi yang jelas keinginanku itu gak taw bisa terkabulkan ato nggak… Hanya berharap ama yang bersangkutan, yang memegang kendali atas hal yang aq inginkan. Dah lebay…
Aq cuma pengen Miracle Train dikasi season baru kek ! Kecuali aq bener2 udah gda stok anime2 ato game2 reverse harem alias otoge…
Keinginan kedua, idupin lelouch-sama lagiii T^T i really2 can’t stand without him… Ayo bkin season 3 please >,<
Yang terakhir buat detik ini aq pengen DUSK menang lg, bukan alesan yang spesifik sih, just like, it’s about our pride. As a rebel of course…
Minna, ganyang abis para manusia2 sok keren yang berkedok HERO dan bersembunyi di clan2 besar pendukung DAWN !! We’ll not let them win right now !!
Not like your father’s syndromes. Just a quick word of warning: I’ve realized that my post output is probably going to drop off by quite a bit over the next few months, as I am taking a stupefying 24 hours of classes this semester out of a desire to graduate and to also take the best class offered at my school… that, or I am… crazy. Its one of those.
Anyway, despite that, I have been blitzing through Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo over the past few days. In the space of two days, I covered sixteen episodes… but then, something funny happened. By the close of the third day, I’d only seen seventeen. And I’m still at seventeen here on the fourth day. What happened?
Well, Final Disc Syndrome happened, that’s what.
I have a tendency to charge my way through shows and then… stop. I’ll usually be in the fifteen to twenty range of episodes seen, and then I just slow down, and then my viewing just stops. Its part of why my ‘On Hold’ queue on MAL is ridiculous. I’ve done it with El Cazador de la Bruja (stalled at 22 of 26), Blue Seed (20 of 26), Nabari no Ou (21 of 26), Lovely Complex (19 of 24), Peacemaker Kurogane (16 of 24)… hell, it even happens with manga; I still have yet to read the final volume of CardCaptor Sakura. What gives?
I think that I do this because, subconsciously, I don’t want things to end. Sometimes, its because I’m mad at what’s happened in the story, as ridiculous as that seems – this is what might be happening with Gankutsuou, as I’m supremely irritated that they killed my favorite character – I stalled on Simoun for a while because that happened. I’m apparently not above being quite petty. But I do think the former is the most likely culprit in most of these – I am enjoying myself, so I don’t want things to end and to have to say good-bye to the characters.
Admittedly, that sounds kind of ridiculous – after all, if I’m not watching it, then I’m not enjoying it, am I? The characters are essentially gone, since I’m not summoning them via the ‘play’ button. And, yet, in a strange way, it does make sense.
Consider the man who kills his girlfriend because he doesn’t want things to be over. Truly, doing such a thing would render the relationship over without a doubt – after all, she’s dead! How can you date a dead person? You just killed the relationship you were seeking to preserve! But killing a person to preserve one’s relationship with them makes sense when you attempt to look at it from their warped perspective – it serves to freeze it in time. Its akin to how a person who dies young will always be young. If you kill that person you love, then you will always love them, and they will always be your significant other. They can’t alter it, they no longer have that power to.
So… did I just compare killing a significant other to ceasing to watch a show?
…
Uh… yeah. Hmm. Hope that doesn’t reflect too poorly on me…
Here’s hoping I can manage to overcome this and finish off Gankutsuou.
Yah thats pretty much how i feel at the moment, there arnt any GOOD anime that i REALLY want to watch at the moment, so lets go through a little about this thought.
To more —> The major problem i have at the moment is that i AM BORED!!!
Like so,
And so i would like to do something other than paint my models, cause i think i need to rest, cause im getting a tad arthiritis in my hand
Just a tad, anyway tomorrow should be fun with my first battle with my 500 point of tyranids. Which consists of black models made from blu-tack, painted models with super glue for the joints, Mario super mushroom on a block, a shark on a spring model and an angel that goes on top of a christmas tree, i think…anyway its made of metal…
Anyway back to the topic, what to do… sooo bored and want to watch anime and spend my 40gb of bandwidth on something worth downloading. Well thats not going to work now since all the new anime is all over the place and i will start with
Sora no Woto
Yeah, after like watching the first 3 eps.. this is reminding me of Strike Witches…urgh how to explain…its something that doesnt feels like its REALLY worth watching and downloading, but ill wait a while and see what other people think of it in the end, cause there aint anything thats happening for the storyline. At least K-on was a lot faster in the storyline and had loads of slapstick jokes thrown all over the place, maybe cause the manga also had that as well BUT you get the idea…
Dance in the Vampire Bund
Ok this will probably be worth watching due to all the interesting events that have occured through ep 1-2 and its by Shaft productions which is a company i follow all the way. Seriously ep 1 was about to make me delete the anime off my computer…But ep 2 kinda sped the storyline along. And they are all nakid all the time lol…Might get around to watching this later though… its not on top priority.
OOkami Kakushi
Wow this picture looks nice but the anime is SOOOO URGH. Its kinda like a REALLY SLOW STORYLINE cause the first episode was extremly slow for me anyway, been watching to much K-On, Hidamari Sketch, etc which have really fast slapstick stuff. Im pretty sure that this is going to be a decent anime later on, but im not going to watch it too soon.
Well thats all for now for the anime that i DONT want to get now. Here is something thats REALLY worth watching thats been keeping me alive for a while.
Yes its the new season of Hidamari Sketch, Opening is lovely Ed is EPIC and there are 2 more new characters in Hidamari So,
Will blog about this later, but its just soo epic this anime. Problem with the first couple openings though cause the characters havent been introduced yet so it kinda left everyone in the dark about it for about 2 eps.
Firstly its original, as in, its not adapted from anything and it began as an anime where it slowly started to get better with, urgh lets say everything cause its hard to identify whats got better. Anyway there isnt much of a storyline, its just about the days of students at hidamari so, but they end up soo hilarious and heartwarming at the sametime. Although its not too fast or too slow its paced decently and everything is just wonderful about it and it doesnt make me want to STOP watching it at any time, but now i have to get ready for work so i have to actually stop downloading the new ep….
Sad fayse….
Oh, course you can figure out who i like the most in this anime
One more thing,
This internet joke is fkn hilarious, maybe cause im an I.T. student and knew what was suppose to be said, and maybe its just Miyako but still its HILARIOUS!!!
Yes there are more jokes but i better get ready for work…
Oh yeah there are a few old series i should get downloaded soon, cause they are good just havent gotten around to getting them.

Even though I was a little tired of Kobato last episode, I regained courage in blogging this! Mostly thanks to what happened in this episode. Not that this episode was much more spectacular than the others, but thanks to a fresh load of plot and wow there’s even a surprise entry for today!
Let’s not wait too much longer and get started! Kobato. 15~
We start at night with Kobato cutting up some paper. Ioryogi who’s observing her asks why she’s doing that stuff. Kobato tells him she’s making decorations for the nursery and happily continues until Puppy-san tells her those papers are actually origami papers and need to be folded instead of cut up. Kobato starts panicking and Puppy-san blows some sense back into her.
Yup such a face will cheer them up good.
After the usual opening, we arrive at the nursery. Sayaka is busy moving some boxes when Mr Cool suddenly busts in and takes over the heavy load from Sayaka. He tells her she looks pretty exhausted and worn out. Sayaka however tells him it isn’t polite to say that to a woman, Fujimoto isn’t amused and says he isn’t joking. He tells her he’ll move the boxes instead and then walks off.
Kobato arrives as soon as Fujimoto goes off-screen, she offers her bag with origami paper to Sayaka and apologizes several time saying she messed up a lot of it. However, Sayaka wasn’t paying attention to that, she was grabbing her clothes in pain and drops unconscious on the floor. Kobato is shocked when she realizes Sayaka collapsed and calls out for Fujimoto panicking.
Yet another origami papercut victim...
Fujimoto quickly runs over once he hears Kobato scream. Meanwhile Sayaka was already getting back up onto her knees. Kobato tells she knows a good doctor to help Sayaka and runs off to get him. She runs through the city without holding back and once she arrives at Kohaku’s house, she starts knocking the door hard and shouts for someone to open. When Kohaku finally opens, Kobato asks her if Shuichiro is there. He appears in the back wondering what the nose is outside.
On other words... it's cancer...
After examinating Sayaka, Shuichiro tells them he’ll write a prescription. Sayaka needs to rest and to eat something light once she wakes up. Kobato is worried and asks if Sayaka will be fine. Suichiro answers she needs to be careful, cause the next time it happens, it’ll be worse than just collapsing. Kobato is even more shocked now. Before leaving, Suichiro tells Mr Cool that Sayaka musn’t write it off as just exhaustion.
Later on while Fujimoto is staring outside, the kids of the nursery arrive and ask how Sayaka is doing. He assures them it’s not to be worried about and even pat a chibi. He tells them so sing a song for Sayaka while he plays the organ. The kids happily sing with him.
While the kids sing, we get a small shot of Puppy-san being left behind in the head office room. Meanwhile, Kobato is watching over Sayaka, who’s sleeping peacefully. Fujimoto suddenly enters and tells Kobato to get to work instead of sitting around doing nothing. Kobato resists but eventually gives in with a sad face…
She's been sleeping for 3 years already?!
While Kobato is still being depressed, the kids are playing with the origami paper. The show Kobato different shapes which can even challenge Aono’s origami shapes! One of them shows Kobato a crane. He tells Kobato that it’s for Sayaka and if you fold a thousand, the person will become healthy again. Kobato is instantly convinced and asks Toshihiko to teach her how to make those cranes. Soon, everyone is busy folding cranes for Sayaka.
Which is the front and which is the back?
Fujimoto watches them from a distance, seemingly relieved and then goes back to work. At the Kohaku residence, Kohaku is worrying about Kobato. Suichiro asks her if she isn’t worrying about the wrong person. She’s surprised and agrees with him, but for some reason she can’t help but feeling worried about Kobato as well.
In the evening, all the kids head home and Fujimoto is about to leave for his part-time job. He tells Kobato to watch over Sayaka when he’s out working and to call him when something happens.
After the break, Fujimoto is seen helping out at the ramen shop. He asks his chief for a more loose schedule. The chief frowns first, but after noticing Fujimoto’s face he gives in. At the nursery, Sayaka wakes up with Kobato at her side. Kobato tells her about what happened and says Sayaka needs to rest more.
Hah... like KobatoxMrCool would ever happen...
Sayaka suddenly mentions that if anything would happen to her, but before she can finish that sentence, Kobato interrupts her saying she mustn’t say that. Once again, Fujimoto was overhearing things and then enters the room. He tells Kobato to go home since she isn’t needed anymore. Kobato pouts and protests but Fujimoto stands his ground and Kobato leaves. Fujimoto then looks at all the origami crane birds that where tied together, he easily finds Kobato’s work. Sayaka says Kobato’s a good girl and Fujimoto noddingly agrees.
At home, Kobato is still distressed about what happened today and Puppy-san wonders if Kobato’s memories are coming back…
Later that evening, Kobato tries to get some advice from the Chii-twins on how to cure Sayaka. However, the two mistake Kobato’s words and think she’s sick, it’s actually a little play with Kobato’s way of speaking. She regularly doesn’t mention the subject of the sentence, which is allowed in Japanese, but it causes misunderstandings if the subject isn’t clear… like in this case.
She does look kinda sick though...
After clearing the misunderstanding, the two girls explain that they always get a rice porridge when they’re sick. Kobato remembers Suichiro’s words and says she wants to make it, but doesn’t know how. The blondes take pen and paper and start drawing how it looks like… duh they’re blondes!
And so later that evening… again. Fujimoto wakes up after snoozing a while. He notices that someone placed his jacket on his shoulders, but when he turns around he sees Sayaka sound asleep. Mr Cool takes a look outside the room and sees light coming from the kitchen. He quickly runs over and notices the brilliant cooking of Kobato…
After asking what happened, he starts making a real rice porridge, he unconsciously mentions that Kobato’s porridge would only make people feel worse. Kobato starts crying and panics about what would happen if Sayaka dies. Fujimoto says people don’t die so easily, but Kobato interrupts and says they do die easily. Fujimoto asks if Kobato went through such a situation before, but she only clings to his arm and continues crying. He pats her head in respond and says Sayaka will be fine.
WHAT?! So there will be KobatoxMr Cool?!?
A bit later, Sayaka happily enjoys her meal. Kobato seems happier now and recovered from her breakdown earlier. Fujimoto even uses his usual cold shoulder attitude on her again… effectively!!
And back at home, Kobato’s bottle did fill up this week (err…episode…). However, Kobato seems happy even though there’s nothing in it. Puppy-san wonders why that is and asks her. Kobato wonders as well but responds that she feels a lot more relieved after letting her feelings out. Puppy-san sarcasticaly comments that Kobato is supposed to heal and not to be healed.
The following day, Sayaka is back in her usual role. All of them greet the arriving children and everything seems back to the same happy old life~ Until… the mysterious entry comes lurking around the corner!! That’s where is also end by the way…
_
Thoughts :
Well it was a pretty interesting episode this week. Not only did we learn that Sayaka has a weak health, but also that Kobato’s memories are pretty screwed. Also mentionable is Kohaku’s behavior and the small scene with her and Suichiro. She might know more about Kobato than we expect as of yet, but then there’s also the fact that she’s an angel and those somehow understand the emotions of living things better *cough*even trees*cough*
Fujimoto is also showing more and more signs of friendliness, but well it was pretty obvious he wasn’t all bad from scratch. The fact that he’s cutting the hours of his jobs shows that he’s really worried about Sayaka and the nursery.
The mysterious person? Well, it might be that person who called Kobato in the field trip episode, you know with the clovers and stuff. Actually, I’m pretty sure it’s him… I think he has something to do with the whole Angel, Demon, Spirit stuff too, but that’s only guessing ofcourse. I bet the people who read the manga know a lot more than me on this matter.
Hopefully the story keeps on moving now! I saw the mystery man in the preview, so I’m pretty hopeful it will.
In creating the same-numbered sequel to Street Fighter IV known as Super Street Fighter IV, Capcom has opted to ditch acclaimed animation studio 4C in favor of GONZO to do the anime accompaniment to the game.
“Wait, GONZO? You mean those guys who ran out of money and weren’t even allowed to do Strike Witches Season 2?” Yes, those guys, but when you think about it they’re a really good fit for Street Fighter IV. Production IG would’ve been better, but you can’t have it all.
Let’s first get out of the way the fact that the Studio 4C Street Fighter IV anime was pretty terrible, and much less than what we’d expect out of a studio which prides itself on its creative animation. Looking back, it’s easy to see that it was simply the wrong studio for the job. Illustrating muscley men (and women!) beating each other up is not really 4C’s thing. GONZO on the other hand is quite good at it.
GONZO utilizes a certain style when animating for international audiences, one that combines the basic aesthetics of “anime” with a very American and masculine idea of “cool,” with the most prominent example being Afro Samurai, and that style just so happens to mesh well with Street Fighter IV ’s. Looking at it relative to the rest of the series, SFIV looks the least like anime out of any of the games ever, and it’s a style that appeals to an audience that also consists of people who don’t like anime (or their image of anime) too much. It’s 3D, it’s “realistic” in an American comic book sort of way even if we’ve got some weird character designs, and it’s close to how GONZO rolls and vice-versa. If you don’t believe me, check out the trailer.
GONZO’s weakness as a studio has generally been utilizing money poorly and mediocre to poor direction on their shows leading to bad endings. But give GONZO enough money for the job and they’ll turn out something pretty-looking for sure. That’s why I predict that this GONZO SSFIV animation will turn out well. First, this is game industry money after all, and even if it’s feeling the effects of the recession it’s still faring better than the anime industry, and they’d be able to at least fund a one-shot bonus feature. Second, this anime will probably be a mere setup for the game itself, so there’s no need for an ending and thus no conclusion to sabotage. And even if there was an ending, it’s not too hard to predict. In fact, I’ll spoil the ending for you: Ryu punches Seth, everybody wins.
All in all, I don’t think it’s going to be the pinnacle of Japanese animation, but it’ll definitely get the job done.
So I haven’t been watching much anime lately because I forgot to take off my 3D glasses after seeing Avatar last week, and they’ve been on my head ever since, until last night when someone pointed it out to me. I’ve since caught up with most what I’ve missed, so I’m ready to rock out this batch of episode reviews.
To Aru Kagaku no Railgun – 16
Somehow, J.C. Staff really dropped the ball on this arc. Throughout the episode, I found myself listing off all the things I would rather be doing; marrying the girl of my dreams, jumping up and down on my bed, or even crashing into Dave Matthews of The Dave Matthews Band. Was the production bad? No, I just didn’t give a shit. Konori wasn’t a particularly a well-developed character, even with the focus on her these past two weeks, and I’m just glad they wrapped up her mediocre and predictable story.
I was actually more interested in this scene from the ending sequence. Who the fuck on the animation staff thought, “Hey, why don’t we outline everyone in green because everyone hated me as a child?” Whoever the fuck it was must have shot everyone else on the ending sequence team because there is no other way this migraine-inducing music video from hell could have made it to the final cut.

Durarara!! - 02
Easily the best show of the season, Durarara!! continues to delight in the second episode with unexpected twists and breathtaking cinematography. Just look at that fucking screencap.
And let’s not forget about this guy. I mean even a headless legend has to goto the dentist sometime, right? Wrong. That isn’t a fucking dentist lol. What kind of show do you think this is? Anyway, there’s really not much else for me to say about this show besides more redundant praise.

Dance in the Vampire Bund – 03
Someone who knows fish, please tell me what kind of fish these are and where I can catch them.
As expected, Dance in the Vampire Bund really bares its fangs in this third episode. Despite the lameness of the idiom I just used, the point still stands: this show is going to be epic as fuck. We’re starting to see conflicts arise within the classroom, within the school, and within the entire city. Mina is a simply a joy to watch as she dominates the opposition in each scenario.
As for Shaft’s trademark presentation style, which is known to be stubbornly unorthodox, I personally love it. Why do I enjoy watching scenes through fishtanks? Because it’s different; because looking at the world through a traditional lens can be painfully boring.
Also, this face.
This is the face that launched a thousand ships. Look at the size of that tongue, dear.

I’m going to be reviewing episodes in batches from this post onward. This way just makes more sense to me.
The beginning opens from Lars’ past.
Lars, who had not had his memory erased by Veda, was searching for his “wife and child” who had had their memories erased. But, [when he was] reunited with Pitty, she was aware that she was not human. Pity tries to brainwash Lars.
As a result, Lars killed Pity, who had been his “wife,” with his bare hands.
Back to the present.
With Lars’ abilities? unleashed, a mysterious light draws near Terishira and Lars.
“I’m a fake human… I have no right to live… [I must grant] death to fake humans,” Lars mutters.
The light stops just in the nick of time, but Terishira could not discern Lars’ ability either.
The scene changes to 1 Gundam attacking Hixar.
Sitting in 1 Gundam’s cockpit, Leif regains his memories of his former self, Beside.
The scene returns to Terishira and Lars. Terishira checks Lars’ right eye.
Because his left eye [was replaced with] and artificial one, his link to Veda is disrupted. Terishira hears that the light was a new Federation weapon from the approaching Sulu and Haamiya. Was it related to Lars’ ability? Or was it…
Next, the scene changes to the space CB base. Hixar sends off a message, requesting that Chall prepare a certain something something.
It changes to a hectic scene.
Brun relays Leif’s QBW saying that he wants to talk to Terishira.
“They’re probably starting to kill the eye witnesses to keep information about the weapon which was test-fired secret,” Terishira worries. With respect to that,
“But, those aren’t Veda’s instructions. It’s the Federation who wants a/the orbital weapon. It’s not Veda. It’s the action of someone using that to carry out Aeolia’s plan from the shadows.”
Terishira is informed about the control. {not so sure what control is being spoken about}
Terishira, having finished the conversation, conveyed his feeling of ill ease, which his correspondence with Leif brought back, to Brun.
Brun again told Terishira that Leif’s QBW were getting stronger.
He returned to the base and the massacre had already taken place.
The combat-use Innovedo, Brad, attacks Sulu saying “Eliminate the eye-witnesses!” Seeing that spectacle, Lars uses his ability and remote-controls a Tieren to attack Brad.
The Tieren comes alive at once.
The light of that Tieren firing [shines?] {or something, there’s no verb it’s just a relative clause}
1 Gundam descends from heaven like an angel.
To be continued next issue.
At the end of the issue, Lars’ design is published. Because Lars has an artificial eye, he can send out transmissions, but he cannot receive them from Veda. Because the artificial eye disrupts regeneration, if it were to be removed there’s a chance that his transmutation capabilities would regenerate, but…
Danzou vs. Sasuke
Danzou thinking: Only 5 seconds left
Danzou forces his wind blade deeper into Sasuke until he cuts him in two. Danzou’s final eye closes as he takes a quick step back.
Karin: Sasuke!!!!
Danzou looks at Madara & gets ready to go after him but suddenly stops.
Danzou: I can’t believe you figured out how to use Izanagi by simply fighting me…
Suddenly Sasuke is shown behind Danzou with s smirk on his face.
Sasuke: 30 seconds left
Sasuke suddenly dashes at Danzou & Danzou turns with his hand on his bandages & he starts to remove them but then suddenly stops. Out of no where Lee kicks Sasuke in the side of the head sending him flying into the air while Kiba & Akumaru both hit Sasuke mid air with their spinning move. Sasuke’s body appear heavily damaged.
Sai: Danzou sama are you alright!?
Sakura, Lee, & Sai jump in front of Danzou as Sasuke gets back up much to everyone’s surprise.
Sasuke thinking: Shit I’ve run out of time!
Sasuke falls to one knee as the light in his eye fades.
Danzou: Sasuke is weakened kill him Sai.
Karin jumps in front of Sasuke with a kunai in her hand.
Sakura thinking: Thats… thats… the same girl I walked past in that village! She’s the one who had Sasuke’s scent on her?!
Madara teleports to Karin & Sasuke & teleports them out of the area.
Danzou: They got away…
Sakura: Hokage sama why were you…
Danzou: That’s something I should be asking you 3 why have you left the village!? Everyone was under strict orders to stay in the village until after the sumit.
Lee: But we..
Danzou: I don’t want to hear your excuses Sai create an Ink bird for me to travel on I must return to the village immediately.
Sai: Yes sr.
Sai creates an ink bird for Danzou to ride on.
Danzou thinking: I’ll deal with your betrayal later Sai but for now it is important that I return to the village before word gets out about my actions at the summit.
Madara & Sasuke
Sasuke: Why did you pull me away! I could have..
Madara: Could have done what go completely blind & get yourself killed? I can’t believe you were stupid enough to use that jutsu Sasuke.
Sasuke: He’s the one who..
Madara: You’ll never get your revenge if you keep making reckless decisions like this.
Sasuke: So how long until my eye recovers anyway?
Madara: Izanagi is a jutsu that permanently seals away the light in one’s eye in exchange for control over one’s self reality. For but a brief moment one becomes truly immortal; impervious to all physical harm. Losing one’s light is the cost of this ultimate genjutsu. This light never returns take it from someone who’s knows form 80 years of experience with that jutsu.
Madara removes his mask to reveal his face. As he opens his other eye its completely white. Sasuke looks in shock.
Sasuke: &… there’s no way to fix this?
Madara: There mite be one way at least in your case… But it requires you to infuse Itachi’s eyes into your own.
Madara pulls out two jars with Itachi’s eyes.
Sasuke: I… I… don’t want…
Madara: It doesn’t matter if you want to rebel against your dead brother. You need this power in order to exact your revenge. Take the eyes Sasuke!
Sasuke reaches out both hands as they’re shaking & grabs the eyes.
Sasuke: What do I do now?
Madara: Just think of your brother & place your hands with each eye over your own. Your blood will instinctively do the best.
Sasuke does what Madara ask of him & Itachi’s eye’s fuse into his own. Sasuke then looks around the room in amazement was everything looks so different.
It’s been two days since our first meeting on Thursday, and that has given me plenty of time to go over all the topics we discussed and bring everyone an update as to our progress!
First let me begin by explaining what went on during our meeting on Thursday. The actual meet time was originally 6pm, however, because of a couple of technical difficulties, our meeting didn’t actually start until 6:15pm, but that also allowed a few stragglers who showed up late to get situated and grab some snacks. As far as the snacks went…I had previously requested money from the president of the organization, Ryan, to get 4 or 5 little Caesar’s Hot and Ready Pizza’s and some soda’s for the meeting, but that was like pulling teeth at the Dentist’s office! Without a sign-in sheet to show how many people actually showed up, the officers of the group were not willing to shell out 20-30 bucks for pizza and drinks, and instead gave me a 10 dollar limit on what they would pay me back for. (People, we are a large organization with plenty of money to shell out to committee’s…so this decision really pissed me off!) SO, I instead grabbed a few boxes of Oatmeal and Chocolate Chip Cream Pies, a box of Little Debbie Brownies, a 2 Liter bottle of Sam’s Cola, a 2 Liter bottle of Hawaiian Punch, and a cheap package of styrofoam cups. This ran me a total of $8.22…whoop di doo…
The snacks was the major upset for the night, so I can at least be greatful that our meeting ran quite smoothly! All in all, their were around 15-16 people that actually showed up for most of the meeting, and this was most probably due to the fact that I started a Facebook event the day before and invited everyone I knew who would be interested (we will have fliers to post around campus for the next meeting…i already have them made)!
With the projector I reserved, and with Krispy’s laptop, we were able to use the agenda I had made without printing out unwanted pieces of paper. (Krispy, by the way, is the head of the committee! ^_^) We pretty much went down the list: New Meeting Ideas, Fundraising Ideas, Anime Viewing List for the semester, Anime News, Momocon, and so on!
Everyone in the room gave great suggestions on what should happen this semester, especially for the Fundraising Ideas:
Selling fried rice meals or lunches
Hosting a Maid Cafe, or Host Club
Design out own buttons and/or stickers
Hosting a Cosplay Contest at the upcoming Anime Dance
A lot of these are fantastic ideas, and can even be combined with each other to help earn us some money! …and like HELL we’d share with the rest of the organization! We talked about (if we did earn a bit of money) it would pay for our trips to either Momocon or Anime Weekend Atlanta, or simply pay for snacks for the meetings without having to ask the other officers.
I passed around a sheet of paper during the meeting and asked everyone to put down any anime’s they would like to see during our meetings, and this is the list that I got:
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni
Maladeni Wasshoi
Outlaw Star (uncut)
Tactics
Speedgrapher
Full Metal Panic: Fumoffu
Cowboy Bebop
Trigun
Hana Kimi
FLCL
Special A
Rosario + Vampire
Voltron
Thundercats (not really anime, but still GREAT)
Digimon
Samurai Pizza Cats
We also had some live action movie and T.V. show suggestions including Battle Royal, and MXE!
I wouldn’t mind showing these anime’s at all, but the list is too big to fit all of them, so a vote will have to be made later on to decide on the best titles! However, if their are any more suggestions concerning what we should watch throughout the semester, send us a comment!!
After the discussions were finished, we set about WATCHING SOME ANIME!!! We ended up using the external hard drive Krispy brought in and watched some of her anime. We ended up watching two anime’s that I had never seen before, and they were really good, though I didn’t write down the names of them, so I don’t have them to post yet. HOWEVER, we did watch one of the worst live action shows in Japan’s history…Sailor Moon!
And yes, it WAS IN LIVE ACTION!! I can’t believe I even sat through a full episode of that terrible show…if you want to put yourself through that same torture…just google it!!
After all the viewings were finished, it was around 9:30pm. We ran a little later than we had expected, but cleanup was quick, and the projector was turned in the next day with no fuss.
The schedules for the next few meetings are as follows:
Thursday, February 2nd, from 6pm – 9pm, in Davidson, room 256
Thursday, February 18th, from 6pm – 9pm, in Davidson, room 254
Thursday, March 4th, from 6pm – 9pm, in Davidson, room 254
Thank you everyone who showed up at the meeting! With your help this semester will be more active than any before! I hope to see everyone at all the other meetings, and if anyone has any questions, or comments, PLEASE COMMENT!! I look forward to hearing from you! ^_^
The sequel to my favorite Gundam series, Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny, takes place a few years after the end of the Bloody Valentine War. During the Battle of Orb, young Coordinator Shinn Asuka lost his whole family. He blamed the Orb Union and the idealism of the Athhas, so he moved to P.L.A.N.T. and joined Z.A.F.T. In the present day, he and a few of his friends, including Lunamaria Hawke and Rey Za Burrel, are a part of the crew of Z.A.F.T.’s newest ship, the Minerva. The new head of Orb, Cagalli Yula Athha, along with her bodyguard, Athrun Zala, comes to P.L.A.N.T. to meet with its current head, Gilbert Durandal. However, radical members of the Earth Alliance’s independent military force, Phantom Pain, hijack three of Z.A.F.T.’s newest, state-of-the-art Gundams just before the Minerva’s christening. The Minerva launches early to chase after them, with Shinn piloting the only Gundam that wasn’t stolen, the Impulse. Along the way, the Minerva, along with reluctant passengers Cagalli, Athrun, and Durandal, get caught up in the vengeance of pro-Patrick Zala radical Coordinators, leading the world into another war. But on whose side does righteousness lie this time?
Now, I love the Cosmic Era timeline, and I love a lot of its characters. Unfortunately, most of its great characters take a back seat for most of Destiny. Instead, we get the single biggest dick in Gundam history, Shinn, as the protagonist. Shinn has basically no redeeming qualities, as he enjoys flaunting his abilities, defying authority, and insulting just about everyone around him as naive and foolish, especially poor Cagalli. The only times you feel sorry for him are at the beginning, when his family dies, and when someone else important to him, Stella Loussier (a copy of Four Murasame, except that you actually like her) dies. Aside from that, he’s just an ass, and an arrogant one at that. Other new characters, like Rey and Lunamaria, are never fully realized. Poor Rey slowly gets this interesting character arc over the course of the show that is just derailed by him going totally evil at the end (so much for subtlety). On the other hand, Captain Talia Gladys is an interesting captain, stronger in comparison to Murrue Ramias, and Durandal is an extremely enigmatic man who is a great, more morally ambigious successor to Rau Le Cresuet. Then, returning protagonists, like Cagalli and Athrun, get totally derailed, forgetting everything they learned from the past series and basically becoming stupid (largely due to Shinn’s idiocy, oddly enough). Then, Kira, Lacus, and the gang come sweeping in and take over the show, becoming the clear heroes, and Shinn and his group turn into the enemy. Oh yes, and Mu La Flaga, who was clearly dead at the end of Seed, is resurrected by retcon as the masked man of the show, Neo Roanoke (not Lorrnoke or anything like that, for anyone who doesn’t know how to read romanji).
So, with a weaker main cast, and the more interesting characters of the first show relegated to smaller or weakened roles for most of the show, this series isn’t as fun as the first one. Sure, the animation is just as good, the music is just as good (though the opening and closing theme songs are less exciting), and the mobile suits are, for the most part, as good. The notable exception to that is the Impulse, which is the most idiotic idea for a mobile suit I’ve ever seen (obviously based on the Victory). Tell me, what’s smart or efficient about having a mobile suit constructed in multiple parts that can only assemble in mid-air, in the middle of a fight? Plus, all those parts are self-propelled, meaning that there’s more fuel used! That is just SO brilliant! I do like the ZGMF-X42S Destiny and the ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom (though the Freedom has a better design), and there’s plenty of interesting mobile suits. Yay for Zakus, by the way! And the voice acting is just as good as in the first series, minus Koyama Mami’s rather weak performance as Talia Gladys. Great additions to the cast include Ikeda Shuuichi (Char Aznable) as Durandal, Kuwashima Houko as Stella Loussier (she’s back, folks!), Seki Toshihiko as Rey Za Burrel, and Suzumura Kenichi as Shinn (the only good thing about the character). But with a weaker plot (retreading old philosophical points that never got answered) and weaker characters, this just isn’t as good as the original.
Goodbye Dance in the Vampire Bund and OokamiKakushi. [Dropped]
Shaft, you had my full interest but then I realized what this would degenerate into. AIC…. Well, I just find it to be an incredibly annoying show. It’d be fine if only you had gone with characters that were a little older. That or if you had included one or two insane lolis.
It’s mostly the age (and the voices) that bother me in OokamiKakushi. They just seem too young and those voices… those damn voices…. some are fine but Isuzu is just…. ugh.
In the case of OokamiKakushi: I watched it ’cause the original game was directed by Ryukishi07 but I just can’t go on anymore. In the case of Vampire Bund: I never thought I’d say this but, too much loli. That and I’m tired of vampires.

Amazing Fantasy Images and cool Anime Pictures.
What I mean by that is that I caught up with the anime AND the manga so YEE. Spoilers ahead, I guess.
Anime
So I finally caught up with the anime, and it had some fillers since the manga is pretty short on chapters plus there’s gotta be ways for Kobato to have some character development. The filler episodes weren’t that bad. I really liked the best friends episode because it’s how I treat my friend ;A; THIS MUST BE A SIGN. I think there will be more filler episodes until they get to the point where Kobato realizes her “true feelings”. I actually wonder how they will end this show…
Manga(SPOILERS)
Could this be a crush?!
Wow, it seems like Kohaku really did appear in the manga as well as in the anime. Another thing I didn’t expect is how they would introduce Kohaku in the “other world” bakery store. She just came out of nowhere to pick up her food for her sweetheart. :>
She shoots....
Now I’m glad that Kobato is starting to realize it! At least she isn’t a total air head… NO OFFENSE!!! I still love her!
She hits....
I wonder what the song is based on…….. HURRRHURR~~~
AND SHE SCORES!
Ahh yes, this is what I’ve been waiting for for “20″ chapters! I really liked how they ended that chapter because it gives the feeling of “what going to happen next?” vibes. And now that I’m caught up with the manga, I’ll keep watching the anime to see if they will ever go to the part where Kobato realizes her feelings for Fujimoto. I just hope nothing bad will screw up the anime. NOTE-TO-SELF: I am in chapter 20.
Our adorable heroines are back with new OPENINGS & ENDINGS! Feel the rumbling clamours of the moe-generation that has churned for this day to come! All here in HD goodness. :O
